Just set up my new M1 Mac mini last night. Bought the base model (8GB RAM, 256 SSD), the LG Ultrafine 5K display, and brand new Space Grey Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad.

Today I am having bluetooth issues - the keyboard and trackpad keep disconnecting. I have power cycled the Mac several times. Right now it seems to be working but am concerned this is going to be an ongoing issue.

Next issue is the LG display. Earlier today I noticed near the middle of the screen it was slightly misaligned on the display (if that makes sense). If you were reading, you would notice the letter being not aligned, and this happened from the top to the bottom. I unplugged the monitor and plugged back in, and that resolved the issue. However it came back after one of my recent restarts to try to fix the bluetooth issue.

So far it's been a less than stellar start for this set up. I've had 4 iMacs, and replaced my 2017 27" 4.2 i7 with this one. Never had issues like this before.

Thoughts on how to fix or is this just a bug I'm going to have to deal with until an update comes out from Apple?

Never buy Apple Gen 1 devices. Often hardware and software issues. Also, have you not seen the recent M1 threads (Bluetooth problems & screen problems) relating to your problem?

My 2018 Mac Mini i7 has bluetooth issues (won't keep a Magic Trackpad paired, though the Magic Keyboard is fine). Apparently, from some reading, this is a longer-standing Mac Mini issue unrelated to the M1. Have not had any visual issues with that machine, and many reviewers say the new one is good. It's easy to return Apple products, so maybe try getting a quick replacement?

Yeah, the Bluetooth issues go way back. I have a 2018 mini that had BT problems and I solved it by switching out a Magic Trackpad gen 2 with a gen 1. My Magic keyboard is also a Gen 1 and never had a disconnect problem. I also had display problems with my 4K monitor were the screen would go blank momentarily then come back on with an HDMI connection. I switch to the display port and that seems to have resolved that problem.

My gen 1 magic mouse and keyboard both have connectivity issues with my M1 Mac mini.

Well, I have tried resetting the Bluetooth module, resetting keyboard and mouse to factory settings, safe boot, resetting the SMC, resetting the PRAM, all to no avail. Apple had me reset the SMC and PRAM, and said to call back if it recurs (apparently, didn't understand the word intermittent - of course it worked right after doing that. It only happens intermittently).

I guess I'll call Apple back, but I'm not hopeful.

My Magic mouse goes out intermittently and comes back few seconds later throughout the day, but it also happened when I was using my 2018 and 2020 MBP as the main computer. Doesn’t seem to be issue specific to the M1.

There have been various Bluetooth issues for years with various bits of hardware.

Well, Apple sending me a replacement unit, so we will see what happens. I did try installing 11.1 today, same issues. With the prior history of early Mac Mini's having Bluetooth issues, I have to wonder if it is related to the Broadcomm chip used in the M1 Mac Mini which is also used in the prior Intel Mac Mini as well. (Could be the chip or the driver).

Of course, my unit ALSO has the pink pixel issue, so maybe the problem is more general hardware as well.

I'm not sure where to post this, here or in the Big Sur 11.1 threads. So I'll start here. Has anyone noticed if 11.1 fixes any of the bugs we are seeing on the M1 MacMini (for that matter any M1)? I'm particularly interested in BT issue fixes, and monitor blackouts.

Edit Update:

Well after going to 11.1 I still got a monitor blackout today. Lasted about 3-5 seconds. I did hit the keyboard keys and mouse button. I really don't think those actions brought the monitor back to life. It is a USB-C Dell Monitor using USB-C cable.
