I had my computer in what I thought was in a sleep setting for a couple of days, usually using my Macbook in clamshell mode, and then put it in my storage location.

A few days later I opened it up at 0%.

Is there any risk I would have caused permanent damage to the battery by leaving it drained at 0% for a couple of days?

never had this issue with intel macbook air…

I routinely run my battery to 0%. It's an Intel MBA. Battery still going strong. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

It might knock the capacity down a half percent. Because it sat around a few days at 0%. I don't think it's really anything to worry about.

When you hear not to go below 20%, 10%, &c. What is really meant is to not do so regularly. As in the long run it'll reduce your batteries cycle count.

If it happens occasionally. It's not a big deal.

Thanks both of you! I feel much better

I know people that do this on their MacBooks and have done it for years - it's not great for longevity but most people don't baby their batteries and see them as a tool to utilize, not a baby to coddle. I wouldn't worry about it. I used to leave my laptops at 100% all the time - Now I'm doing the 80% with AlDente and seeing very real longevity gains doing this. But in the big picture of 2-3 years, it's not a big deal.
