These have either inbuilt batteries or use Type-C PD for powerbanks to power, but there are also portable monitors which use Sony NP-F batteries (usually used for cameras, displays, lights, etc).

My issue is the quality level of the Dell portable monitor - I don't need battery power, the Dell uses USB-C right from the MBP. That part is good, but FHD vs. the Mac Display isn't. My preference is to stay with a portable USB-C monitor - with a higher resolution. I see a few out there - wondered if anyone has used and has feedback.. Once the novelty of all the amazing things you can do with an iPad waned, I just found it wasn't as fast doing things as a laptop.
For lack of a better word, you can 'shrink' the experience on a Mac better. You can get used to keycommands, squish 3 or 4 windows of information on the screen. And the interactive targets can get really tiny using a mouse. Any of the more advanced apps on the iPad you are always juggling side panels and the buttons are either chunky or too small. buttons on a screen that is already pretty small. I know there are power users out there that can handle all the multitasking the iPad can do, but to me it's a lot more fiddly and annoying to use.

Likewise. Ever since getting an iMac for WFH, I much prefer working on that than my iPad Pro with all the peripherals. I've been using Macs since 2003 and I just know this OS in and out. I'm thinking of selling the iPad Pro and putting the money into an M1 Air. The only thing I like the Pro for is drawing, but I just don't do enough of it. One of the many, many times I had high expectations and dreams, but in reality, I'm a fossil too stuck in his old computer paradigms of files and multitasking.

Sidecar is kinda a gimmick to me, never found it useful, I vote M1 Air. The Intel 2020 Airs were nice but the M1 is serious step up in CPU and SSD speed.
