@HuckleberryHound
This is always very annoying with a new, not quite cheap, device. But I guess there are such problems with all manufacturers.
I hope for your sake that Apple will replace the display or the entire device without any complications.
Airplay with my AppleTV 4k works fine for me. Screen Mirroring I do not use.
All in all, I have to say that the display of my MBA M1 makes the best impression under artificial light.
Under daylight, especially in twilight, slight weaknesses show. It is certainly not a perfect display, but overall quite good for an IPS panel.

Thanks, it sounds sober. It just sounds alarming to see 2 faults within such a short period. Apple seems now to be the victim of their success. Will see how the repair goes and will let this forum to know.
Airplay with Apple TV 4K is not the setup here; its an Apple enabled Samsung TV (built in) and Netflix just not offering Airplay so I'm forced to use Screen Mirror. I'll revert to this when I get my MacBook Air back.
Daylight/artificial light issues are spot on, same here. I've just had no such (bad) experience with my previous edition.
