I'm having this so I went through elimination:
- I saw someone mention the use of HDMI connectors. I use one of them.
- I also have a VGA-usb-c connector. So I guess I had to try this one on too. Still happening.
- Ok, we'll do with no screen connected until they fix it? Nope, still dropping a couples of times every hour.

I've tried calling Apple support twice, in both French and English, to no solution. This is apparently nowhere on their radar either.

This is my second MBA M1: the first one had a 3-4 hours battery life so it was returned. I waited a couple f weeks and when my 2015 MBA told me it was time to give him a relaxing time being the second laptop only for Netlfix and all, I bought a new one. But now this? I mean... damn!

My wifi woes continue on my MacBook Air M1. Constant speed issues and dropouts. A call to Apple wasn't really helpful as I'm still having issues after they had me add this to the network DNS settings. All other devices in my house seem to work fine from the exact location as where I am using the pro. I have an Orbi mesh system.

Anyone have an idea? I love this device and do not want to return.

DNS settings they had me add:

As you can see a speed test with my new Macbook and iPad Pro next to each other is no comparison.

Not sure if this would help... but I received my Macbook Air M1 yesterday and in setting it up today noticed abysmal wifi speeds. I saw a video that explained after running a Wireless Diagnostic, the speed issues should be fixed. I tried it and it worked! These are the steps I took to fix my speed issues.

1. Hold Option + Shift and click the wifi icon
2. Click Open Wireless Diagnostics...
3. Click Continue (wait for the progress bar to run)
4. Click the Continue to Summary option and click Continue
5. At the additional information screen click Continue
6. At the router information screen click Continue
7. The report generation will run (it will take a bit)
8. When finished click Done (it will generate a report file... but this is not needed and can be deleted)

Before doing this I was get 5 - 6 meg down and 2 meg up (on a 40/10 circuit)... after I got 40 Down and 9 up.

Hope this works for anyone else having the same issue

Thanks

Seems that the MacBook Air that I got today has this issue. Consistently shows connected, but no internet traffic. I’m getting teams notifications sporadically, can’t browse the web, etc.

Has anyone determined that this is a hardware issue? The machine did it when I was on the pre-loaded OS (11.2 I think) and also in 11.4, which took an insanely long time to download (it shouldn’t on my connection).

FIXED THE PROBLEM.
MacBook Air (M1, 2020) running OS Monterey 12.0.1
Safari running slower and slower, almost stopped.
Thought it may have been:
Service Provider (complained)
NBN (checked)
Modem (replaced)
Wireless Network (double-checked, connected with Ethernet cable)
Network interference (turned everything off)

Problem was when “Hide IP address” was selected in Privacy settings in Safari. Turned it off and all my slow network problems were resolved immediately!!!!
