Well my 16 inch came in the mail and here are my honest observations regarding the smearing
For one, its very noticeable. Anytime there is white text over a dark background, simple scrolling makes all of the text drag across the screen in a very distracting manner. It basically means that any application that has a dark mode is affected. It doesn't affect videos as much as I thought it would but when things are moving fast on the screen it is very evident that something is off due to the trails. UFO test is a total mess and the 120hz UFO looks incredibly fuzzy/blurry the entire time. Its particularly bad when you're moving from a full screen app to another, where the whole screen is essentially buzzing until it comes to a stand still. Was also able to test a few games on it and while there's not so much a feeling of input delay from the controller to the action on the screen, the ghosting is enough to be a distraction.
Overall, while it isn't quite as bad as I thought it would be it is still noticeable enough to the point where I believe it future models could use an improvement. 50/50 on returning the device, I shall continue to use it further to see if it is something I can get used to or not. But to be completely honest, with the rumors of the next revision being OLED or at least Samsung screens coupled with increasing reports of various issues with the device, I would be more surprised if I end up keeping this device.
