Hey Guys,

Since yesterday my Mac does have a problem. I was using a VM doing graphic intensive work in windows and using safari / notes +OBS recording my screens. It was connect trough a dock onto a monitor and peripherals.

The mac crashed, shut down and tries to reboot, but every time it tries to load it reboots.
Sometimes i hear the chime but it does not boot properly and reboots again.

After 20 minutes, it booted up and i used it all morning today but when i did the same thing Like mentioned before, it shutdown again in a crash. There is nothing i can do unfortunately to get it to boot.
The recovery menu does not boot either even though it says it is doing it, it just crashed again.

Is this a hardware problem or a software problem? The laptop wasn’t that hot, just warm to the touch.
I got a Apple crash report after i was able to boot it up yesterday, maybe you guys can see something going on in there?

Also a video can be seen in the attachment, hope you guys can help me :(

What do you mean with "mac +" recording? Is it software or hardware or the built-in Quicktime recording function?
You are definitely corrupting the main early boot stage. There is an alternate recovery that likely is getting you back after a bunch of reboots.

I meant using safari , notes etc. I used OBS to record. it is on and off rebooting for more than an hour now, ain’t going to fix itself anymore :(

Will it boot in safe mode?
Press and hold power button to get Startup options.
Select your drive and hold shift key and continue.

Can you make a bootable USB on another computer, and try booting from that?

If neither of those help, I would suspect a hardware fault. If it is not a hardware it will need Apple Configurator to completely restore the Recovery and OS.

Either of these would need a visit to Apple, although you can do Apple Configurator yourself if you have access another mac (can be an Intel Mac).

No it does not boot to safe mode unfortunately. I could try to make a bootable USB But it has to get in to the boot options first which is also under safe mode isn’t it?
I made an appointment for Wednesday ,, hope they can help me out, still it is weirding me out this happens with a machine that is 4 months old and completely reinstalled not even a week ago.

At the moment the MacBook is in this state:

My M1 1 day old Mini is doing this. Set it up last night and this morning it asked to restart for updates. So I let it restart and it's been restarting over and over. Now it's restarting going on 20 minutes. I'm just waiting it out for a little longer.

Couldn't help but notice the picture of your MBPro, and also remembered how many times over the years I have told customers to not ever voluntarily leave a powered-up laptop laying on a bed.
I'm hoping that you have left that habit behind, after getting a good working laptop.

Y?

eh... just noting a heat-producing device, resting on a "surface" that will easily retain heat...
It's something that I notice, after being a long-time tech, and occasionally seeing the results of a variety of over-heating incidents. "Laptop on a bed" just gives me pause. At least, use it on a hard surface. I've seen bed tables, which often will have a hard/flat surface for that kind of use -- just not resting on the bed itself.
Yes, the M1 will generally be cooler, but don't potentially clog the cooling vents, and expect the laptop to overcome that.

You could try cmd+R to boot into recovery mode. But otherwise it might be a hardware fault and you'll need to have it looked at.

The computer was cold to the touch, i would never use it while doing intensive tasks while in my bed. I know how those things work after working in a IT store for 10 years.
