I just recently got my M1 MBP and am noticing a rattle coming out of it. I'm not really sure whether or not it's the keyboard that's rattling or if it's something loose internally, I've been using the butterfly keys on my other MBP which didn't make any rattles so I'm not so sure.

I tried putting tape down on all of the keys so they were pressed in and shook it again, the rattle persisted. I found a point underneath the Mac around the trackpad area where if I push up against the chassis, the rattle goes away. The rattle does not appear if I shake the MBP in any other orientation besides the one in the video I've attached.

Before I take it to Apple, some thoughts/opinions on what this could be?

Anybody else have an M1 13" MBP that can try this and let me know if they have the same thing?

Thanks!

I have the same thing on my 2016 15" MacBook Pro. I forgot all about it until I saw your post.
I can't remember exactly what I found when the issue came up for me, but whatever I found was enough for me to realize it wasn't a big deal. Hopefully you find the same and can enjoy the new laptop. :)
Definitely look more into it, maybe try others on display.
Edit: Mine only rattles when I shake left to right, vs yours being back and forward lol.

It’s the keyboard man. The keys are shifting when you’re shaking. And why are you shaking your laptop anyways lol
