So you buy a new M1 Pro MacBook Pro 14" get it home update to 12.0.1 go to load your logic projects off of external usb drive and notice connected USB C to USB A hubs now have NO POWER: Booooooooooo!

and whats worse is you sold your old mac so you are so out of luck - USB C native or NOTHING since this update......can't even hook up required audio interfaces NOW urrrrrrrrghhhhh>>>>>>

WTF has happened to Apple Software QC since whitehead has taken the reins FFS > so is it just me or are other early adopters just SCREWED AGAIN....

then you check applecare+ online which reads 24-7 support, read it again for you country..... its only 12-6pm support on saturdays, premium product and premium support aye: what a load of big jobbies.... venting sorry>

anybody elses USB giving them hell on the new M1 MacBook Pros or am I just lucky:( ?????

you connected an HD to a non-powered (as in powered trough the Macbook only) USB-C-USB-A hub and the hard drive did not power up? What hub? What HD, which file system does it use?

hub is powered, as is audio interface> SSD is 2.5" external Mac OS Extended (Journaled) - it will not even open a USB type A thumb drive connected to either hub or USB C - USB A dongle....... will attempt rolling back the OS as final troubleshooting solution before speaking to Applecare+ once they are actually open...

In case this helps and is relevant I am using a kingston USB thumb drive on my MacBook Pro 14 M1 pro.
I used a cheap £2.50 adaptor from amazon to convert the usb A to usb C it aint pretty but it works fine.
