Hello everyone!

Received my MBP 14 M1 Max (24 GPU) recently, like it very much!
Got a question: I tried to play a game on it (Albion online), performance and graphics are excellent. But the case heats up when playing, temperature of CPUs up to 90 C (mostly 85) and similarly GPU (Up to 90 C). Fans speed about 90% from maximum speed.

How do you think is it harmful to MBP to work in this mode? I do not want to kill him, he is very cool, and silent during normal operation.

Thank you! ))

If you do that too many hours each day, sure it can possibly damage the chip. It's a laptop so its ability remove heat isn't as efficient as a console or tower. It will also dry out your thermal paste sooner than normal.

Can you change the game's graphics quality to make it less demanding? All laptop gamers should do that.

This is ********. MacBook Pro has great cooling system and can take temperatures above 100 degree so do not believe this guy that It will damage your beauty.

Thank you friends! New MBPs is really awesome.
Can't imaging that beside work I could also playing games some times on it and have questions like that ))

Sounds like it hasn't been setup graphics preferences to limit its resolution, even though its a old OpenGL used game as far as the Mac. Its also a iOS game. Some of these ports have little graphics adjustments but you should be able to set it to 1080P. If you search MacRumors this online game really hasn't been discussed at all.

If you like playing D&D Diablo 3 is a intel based game (Rosetta 2) that a lot cooler running on a M1 MBP and way better environment to explore they have everything on sale now for next 36 hours. For example the Diablo® III: Eternal Collection is $40 or if you want less character slots buy the $29 package. Its a online game with no subscription charges with seasons that start and end every 3 to 4 months. You just have to buy the downloadable game Mac OS client. https://us.shop.battle.net/en-us/family/diablo-iii

No thx, I don't interesting in Diablo )

Thanks for the advice on lowering the resolution and graphics. Reduced graphics from ultra to hight. GPU with CPU become not so hot, fans are almost inaudible.
