My daughter has an M1 MBA running Sonoma. In the last week, she's taken it to a public library, restaurant, and my office, where it has been unable to connect to any of their Wi-Fi networks.

It works fine at home.

None of these networks have a page like a hotel where you must sign in first—they are just open, unprotected networks.

Her phone can connect to these networks, but her MacBook doesn't see her phone (or mine) as a hotspot network either.

Her machine is pretty stock. No VPNs.

Any suggestions?

Okay, it's "unable to connect" - what DOES it do?

Does it see the network?
Does the network as for a password?
Is the password accepted?
Are any error messages displayed?

Also ensure Sonoma is up to date, v14.5
