I have read that there have been issues in the past with Microsoft Teams, but it seems for most users they are resolved.
I use Teams at work on a daily basis on my MacBook Pro M1 (32 GB RAM). I‘m currently running macOS 26.5, Teams updated a couple of days ago.
Whenever I use screen share (single window or whole desktop - no difference), the fans start whirring and the MacBook starts slowing down somewhat. It has been worse in the past, but it‘s still annoying. This was never the case when I was using Sequoia.
It also doesn‘t seem to affect all of my co-workers (also running macOS 26). Meaning it could be an issue specific my MacBook or maybe the software I installed on it.
If I open Activity Monitor while screen sharing in Teams, it seems Teams is using up a lot of CPU. Anyone know of any side effects that could be causing this? Ideas how I might pinpoint the problem apart from checking Activity Monitor?
Thanks in advance.

No idea as to the exact reason, but It’s a Microsoft product, so not surprising at all. Most of their software products have gotten significantly worse over the last year or two 🤮

Are there any screen sharing-specific settings in Teams? (Sorry, on my iPad)

"Native" app or the PWA?

~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams2/Data/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MSTeams

Quit Teams and delete everything in this folder, then restart Teams and sign back in. This gives Teams a bit of a soft reset.
