I'm curious how other M1 Pro & M1 Pro Max owners are doing in the battery health department after around 2 years of ownership.

I'm extremely pleased with where mine is at after 2 years of daily use. I've got approximately 95% battery health after 391 cycles. The only battery management I practice is limiting my charge to 85%.

Despite my aversion to upgrading more than every 3-4 years, the M1 Pros were an easy day 1 decision for me because of the battery life potential. The way I use my laptop is extremely bad for battery health on Intel MBPs (VMs, compiling software, RAW photo processing).

The 2 year mark is meaningful for me because if I was careful about how to I used my Intel MBPs, I'd still have a barely healthy battery after 2 years. Now, I'm using my computer without any power management concerns and it just works no matter what I do with it.

2 years as well on my M1 Pro. 245 cycles, 90%.

I'm pretty careful about only charging to 85% using Al Dente.

The battery life though seems to be steadily decreasing. I think I only get around 6-7 hours now. I'm getting more with my new 14" HP surprisingly when doing similar tasks. To be fair I think a lot of it is due to always listening to music through an external DAC. Seems to be kryptonite to MacBooks for me. 😉

14" MBP M1Pro, from day 1. Used pretty much daily, but generally left plugged in, optimized charging enabled.

System Settings/Battery/Battery Health:
Battery Health is showing 96%.

System Information/Power:
Cycle Count 196, Condition Normal, Max Capacity 96%

14" Launch Day M1 Pro - health is at 95%. Cycle count is 224.

No complaints...battery life is still great. I usually plug it in every night and optimized charging is turned on.

2 years old, 95% health, 231 cycles - I use it pretty much all day, every day off the charger, and charge when it gets to around 40% - no fixed pattern really. (Wow, I just checked and it is exactly 2 years old tomorrow 🙂)
ETA: I get between 10 and 14 hours out of it, even after 2 years - have not noticed any deterioration whatsoever.

Is it MBP M1 Pro chip? 14 or 16 chassis?
Pretty remarkable, seems the biggest issue is when you keep it plugged in at all times.

Per CoconutBattery, 84% (85% in System Settings). Launch day (more like a preorder) M1 Pro 16”.
Much better than my 2018 15”, which had a totally shot battery by this point. I think it’s because the M1 doesn’t get nearly as hot.

16" M1 Pro, ~50 cycles, 100% battery health through Coconut and System info.
Using Al Dente Pro, limiting charge to 75%
