M1 Pro with Dual Studio Displays and DisplayLink Adapter

I have an M1 Pro MacBook Pro and have two Studio Displays on the way. Ideally, I would like a triple monitor set up with the MacBook in clamshell mode.

Since the MacBook Pro only supports 2 external displays, I am thinking of getting a DisplayLink adapter, and connecting the third monitor (1920x1200 resolution, vertical orientation) to one of the USB-C ports on one of the Studio Displays. Do you think this would work? Would I see any performance issues?

Nope, the Studio Display does't support MST

And neither does macOS. This doesn't matter though. A DisplayLink adapter is just a normal USB device and can be connected to one of the Studio Display's USB ports.

Do you think this would work?

It should™ work. Rotation and clamshell mode are finally supported by DisplayLink.
