I tried restoring from Time Machine backup for the first time. I was always stubborn before and restored things the old-fashioned way by copying files from an external drive, reinstalling apps, and reconfiguring all my settings. This way saved so much time. I wish I had tried it sooner. Also, the speed of this SSD. 😳

i was actually surprised they updated the ssd to pcie 5 speeds so soon. Pcie 5 is still fairly new and not widely adopted yet, considering how long they held onto pcie 3.0 speeds, it was a welcome surprise to see they upgraded to these fast ssd's in the middle of a memory crisis lol

How much RAM do you plan to dedicate to the Linux VM? Without understanding what workloads and activities you plan to do within the VM, dedicating 8GB to the VM should be more than sufficient, which implies 24GB RAM configuration should be acceptable. Rule of thumb: Unused RAM is wasted RAM... and money.

You apparently haven't seen how Snappy™ my 128GB RAM Mac Studio with M4 Max is. I can have up to six tabs in Chrome open at the same time.

I did a 1TB Time Machine restore from an external SSD when I got my new MBP and it took about 30 minutes. Was blown away by the speed.

As promised, here are the results of running WoW on a M5 Pro MacBook Pro. Looks like Blizzard needs to update their software. I want to stress test it with a throwaway account, so I went to a server where there's always a lot of activity in Goldshire. I was getting around 70+ FPS with high settings. Not bad. This is the first time I heard the fans spin on my new MacBook. The FPS counter is on the bottom right side near the action bar.
