At least according to Gurman, it’s schedule shortly after November’s MBP releases.

I’m sure this rumour will be posted here on MacRumors...probably on Monday morning to generate more page views.:)

Looks like the bigger iMac is getting pushed way back.

I'm shopping for a mini M1X and 16 MBP. I'm managing with a M1 mini 16/512 + i7-10700 desktop. This roadmap is really getting dragged out. I don't blame Apple as we're seeing delays and hard-to-get components generally.

It's interesting times. I am interested in an M1X Mini, but at the same time, I'd rather use my Intel Mini for many more years to come. And if an Intel Mac Pro 2022 comes to fruition, I think the shift to ARM-specific software will be slower than initially planned (along with the pandemic and chip shortages).

I'm thinking I may have 4.5-5+ years from now before Intel Mac OS becomes more or less unsupported.

I'm just not sure I can hold out until November as I'm running on a dying 2010 MBP.

I might just go with the current M1 Mac Mini and suck it up if the new M1X actually show up this year.
A part of me believes it won't come to fruition until spring 2022.

I have the same feeling. It can even happen, that it will be beyond that, more like Summer of 2022. It wouldn't be a big surprise tho...
