Neo uses A18, so it should be included? Which is even more offensive! Or is there a RAM limitation?
I'm pretty sure that there is a 12GB RAM floor for this.

That said, Apple was somewhat opaque about what 'more advanced Siri' means? I took it to mean the dictation mode and the tunable Siri voice, but I think most of the other stuff will be there.

My guess is that they're fine tuning the performance of these features and found that they don't work smoothly without enough RAM or NPU horsepower with less than M3. On the Mac side of things - I'm finally seeing a reason to upgrade my M1Pro.

Since I installed the developer beta on my iPhone 17 Pro, I figured I’d ask Siri AI, and as I figured, it’s going to have some of the same limitations as the iPhone 15 Pro, the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 models, and here’s what I got:

SIRI AI LIMITATIONS ON VISION PRO (M2)

While the M2 Vision Pro will receive the core Siri AI features, it will not have access to the most powerful on-device model. This means it will miss out on specific enhancements that require more advanced hardware.
  • Expressive Voices The M2 model will not support the new, more natural, and customizable Siri voices that can adjust their pace and expressiveness.
  • Advanced Dictation The most accurate and advanced dictation engine, which can automatically handle capitalization, punctuation, and formatting, will not be available on the M2 Vision Pro.
VISION PRO TIERS

Yes, the Apple Vision Pro has tiers based on its hardware, similar to the iPhone. These tiers determine which Apple Intelligence features are supported.
  • Vision Pro (M2) This is the original model. It supports the core Siri AI features, including on-screen awareness, personal context, and the new Siri app.
  • Vision Pro (M5) This is a newer model with more powerful hardware. It supports all Siri AI features, including the most advanced on-device model with expressive voices and advanced dictation.

Anyone figured out how to make the Siri ball that you just have to look at to use Siri? I can activate the Siri app and get the full boat UI with past discussions but want to add the Siri ball to my coffee table as part of my room setup.

I am digging Apple’s new Siri implementation. I can ask about my own data and while it may take a minute, it’s been accurately surfacing what I’ve been requesting. Tested by having Siri find my next dental appointment and it surfaced the appointment confirmation text sent by me dentist. I thought it would find the calendar appointment first or surface that as well, but it stopped with the text, which is fine by me as it gave me the information I requested.

But if it has the same amount of ram, then what's the problem.

M3 was shown as the minimum CPU able to run the more expressive Siri. This is a quote pulled from a 9 to 5 Mac article:

Available on iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPad models with M4 and later and at least 12GB of unified memory, Mac models with M3 and later and at least 12GB of unified memory, and Apple Vision Pro (M5).
