Hi All,

Long time apple user but not at all clued up like some of you guys are so thought I'd ask the pros.

My 2018 base model mini has died and needs a logic board replacement so I'm buying the base M2 model which suits my business needs (heavily multi tabbed browsing and office apps but nothing special).

My question is my partner also works from home a few days a week and her work only provider with a basic laptop (thinkpad). That's fine for her needs but she would be better with a bigger screen.

So.... I was wondering whether anyone could advise on monitor reccos for the mac mini that would support easy plug and play for her windows laptop so we can interchange easily (we swap workspaces and I also have a MBP I can use in other rooms in the house when she wants the desk and vice versa) but keep the monitor at the same desk (and mini obviously)

Ease of switching inputs to the monitors is key here so that it's not a hassle doing it daily. Ibtegrated webcam would be nice as we both have a lot of remote meetings, but not essential. 27" display is probably what we are looking for.

On a side note I get (a bit) of extra productivity from a dual screen setup so if that could work as well (not 27" in that case) that would also be great but not at the detriment of us easily being able to quickly switch from me working on my mini via this monitor and her quickly plugging her laptop in and being able to work immediately.

Thanks in advance!

I probably would get a monitor get that has a built in KVM switch (hardware). My personal monitor is the Dell U3821DW (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZXN4XQY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details), however, you may buy any monitor that has a built in KVM switch. This allows you to plug in two different sources (windows laptop on 1/2 of the screen and MacOS on 1/2 of the screen). This one does NOT have a built in webcam however I am sure there are other monitors with built in webcams or you can buy a 3rd party webcam.

Thanks for the quick reply and this is pretty cool, just watched the video.

However we don't have room for an ultra wide and there is no need for us to be both using our systems simultaneously.

I might not have been clear but the key thing is that I can be using my mini on the monitor(s) and that there is an easy way for me to disconnect and my partner can plug her laptop (windows) in and pick up where she left of fairly quickly.

Thabks again though.
