I've had a base model M2 Mini since last November. I connected an external M.2 enclosure with 2GB card in it which I installed Mac OS onto. Although the enclosure gets quite hot, it seems to run the system quite well. One thing I've noticed is that when I put the computer to sleep, the light on the front of the mini doesn't not go out and the M.2 enclosure still stays warm to the touch. Also, this thing is chewing through batteries for the magic trackpad. It's an older one that uses 2 AA batteries. Didn't have this problem with the 2010 27" iMac that the Mini replaced.

Any thoughts on what is going on here, and should I just move the system back to the internal memory via my Timemachine backup. The Mini only has 256 MB and I'm worried about running out of memory and the system not running as well as it does from the external M.2 drive.
