What do you think is the most likely scenario if Apple releases a new M2 Mac Mini?

I don't expect a redesign of the mini anytime soon. I got a survey from Apple today about my M1 mini. There were lots of questions about ports--are there enough, what do I connect to them, how many displays, what kind of displays, etc. This implies to me that any design changes are still a ways away from release as they try to decide if they can skimp on ports, or if enough users actually use them that there would be an outcry if they cut it back. I'm sure they will ignore my comments about 8GB RAM on the base model being pretty much a joke at this point.

I agree. I don't think a redesign is necessary at all, especially if (and it's a big if) there is an M2 Pro option coming. They can easily use the same chassis for the M1, M2 and M2 Pro. Perhaps keep the silver and space grey distinction between the M1/2 and M2 Pro option.
