The MBP with M2 is around to give an option that doesn’t throttle for heavier workloads, because it has active cooling/fans. The MBA always lacked that option. As to why they did stick to the old design, I have no idea. A 15” MBA would have been nice or a “thinner” 15” MBP with M2 option and both could have had fans. They blew that chance.I'm surprised Apple kept the 13" MBP around. Just consider it a pricing weirdness.
