The choice is between getting an iPhone 16 or getting a 13" MacBook Air (M2/16GB/256GB).

The MBA is appealing as I don't need to upgrade my iPhone this year, but on the flipside iPadOS 18 has conclusively proven that Apple's support policies are purely based on the date of first sale and the M2, while still a perfectly capable chip, is now 2 generations/macOS versions old which is worrying from a longevity perspective as I tend to use laptops for 5+ years.
