Thankfully no issues with mine as well. I've had an issue like that, 3-4 macs back but have been lucky ever since then.

Interesting, I dont have an m1 to compare to but compared to my 7 pro x, it had the cooler screen of the two. I personally dont use True Tone, didn't like it on my phone and didn't like it on this either lolHas anyone noticed the screen has a yellow tint compared to the M1 Air? The white is kind of off white and not really accurate
I had a look at both machines side by side and noticed the M2 is more yellow. Is this normal? I think since the M2 display has billions of colours than the M1 and when True Tone sets in it becomes kind of over saturated.. and I’m not sure if I got a faulty machine…
Could someone check
Then get the mini led pro model. Because these are led backlight lcd panels. They will never be perfectI'm still somewhat conflicted about whether the new unit I received is good enough.
I've seen several M2 Airs and most had some light bleed to varying degrees (especially in the corners). While the sample size was small, I'd say your replacement looks better than most I've seen.I'm still somewhat conflicted about whether the new unit I received is good enough.
Mine has one little spot in the lower left corner that I woulda never noticed if I didn't come across this thread lol
Ha! pretty much and it's all your fault lolThe sequence of events leading to this thread and now your comment:
Mine looks 98% perfect besides the one corner but I dont think any led backlight panel would be perfect and would probably end up trading for one worse lol. I like dark backgrounds so now that I know its there, I notice it a bit but thats my ocd. Has zero effect on anything im doing, I dont blast my brightness at night and you dont notice it at all during the day.I was worried, but mine looks great.
Manufacturing sample varation. And yes Apple think it's acceptable. To manufacture M2 Air's they are using a previously out of favour OEM whom Apple had stopped using due to QC issues. And here we are playing a lottery. How does it go at Apple though? Lets say they make a production test run of 50 units at their R&D centre, did they notice the backlight bleeding there and thought that was ok? Confusing how it works, or does this happen when you make millions of units that eventually the perfect parts start to go bad due to something going wrong with the manufacturing?
My bottom left looks just like yoursHere's mine. 10 1T 24. The bottom left is a bit annoying, would be it be worth the hassle of getting a replacement?
Yes, I stated something similar here earlier in the thread. What's causing the issue?
I think its got to do with the way the LCD is placed and sitting inside the enclosure/lid that there is uneven pressure which causes the bleed? It looks like a similar thing when you press on the LCD screen you get that light going..
That was a great season of Picard.Just to add to the thread - I ordered an M2 when Preorders went live (base, Midnight) & it had horrible backlight bleed. In general use you probably wouldn't notice it, but my problem was when I was watching shows you could also see the light bleed (just to show this isn't just being OCD and running light bleed tests, this is real world use with the screen brightness just set where it would be).
I ended up returning and exchanging for another one, it had less bleed as this one, but still had it pretty bad in the lower-left of the screen, so at that point I gave up on the MBA & got a 14" Pro.
