M2 MBA has been getting hot

My 15inch M2 MBA has been getting hot lately. Main use is web surfing, email, streaming etc. Thoughts?

Check Activity Monitor; listed by CPU, most active processes to least active. See what's keeping the CPU busy.
Also monitor the GPU graph.

Also make sure the Mac is on a hard flat surface. If it's on blankets or your lap it may get hot.

In this example, Activity Monitor shows Google Chrome as the process making the cpu work the hardest.

If the Mac is working hard on something, the percentage will be much higher, and the Mac hotter.

All of those things listed except for email are taxing on the machine, especially if you're running Chrome as your browser.

Most websites these days have a ton of crap running in the background, and streaming isn't a computational lightweight process.

That being said warm != hot. If it's warm it's nothing. The case acts as a heat sink so getting warm is how it cools off. If it's hot to the touch then something else is the issue.

I suggest a good content blocker (not just for ads anymore). The web today is a cesspool without it.
