Has anyone with the M2 Pro Mini tried to connect 4 monitors (usb-c to Displayport and/or hdmi)?
Does it for sure not work?

Seems like it could easily handle the bandwidth so are they just limiting it to 3 on purpose to be jerks (ie make you buy a Studio)?

They stupidly (or maybe purposefully) tie the number of display controllers to the chip in hardware. Easily seems like the biggest flaw of the M-series when even anemic terrible Intel integrated graphics from 5 years ago can do 3 monitors with ease.

Only workaround is a software based solution like DisplayLink which has some drawbacks.

It's crazy that you could power one 4k HDR VRR monitor from the M2 Pro Mini, but not 4 1080p monitors.

Even more ridiculous than that right.
2x 6k monitors and 1x 4k monitor. (From their specs)
But not even 4 1080p.

Seems very much on purpose.
