M2 Pro owners will you upgrade to M4?

Nah, my Mini M2 Pro is pretty much specced out, with the 12/19 Core config and 32GB RAM. 2TB SSD is serving me well as it always has. Maybe M5/6 will be worthwhile, as the most processing power I need lately is for Plex, or PLA on Ryujinx.

I have this exact config but with just 1TB (only using 512GB, and by the time I'll hit, say, 800GB, it'll be time for a new Mac anyway).

It's more processing power than I need as a lawyer ... and yet, I'm still drawn to the idea of upgrading to the M4 Mini. I'm doomed. Damn you, Tim Cook.

Curious why do you need more power for plex ?

M2 Pro 32GB/1TB used in a pro music studio. Likely doesn't need upgrading until M5 or M6 at least. AI capacity and processing power will be the primary reason to upgrade in the interim, I'm sure.

4K remuxes, mostly. Multiple streams, local and otherwise hitting the local drives.

BestBuy is offering $575 for that configuration, better than apples $379 trade in
You can get more money on eBay , but then you’ll have to deal with that

From what I saw at bestbuy you can do the trade in when you buy the m4 Mac mini at full price , then when you get the m4 in the mail they will tell you how to send in the trade in , and pay you back $575 when they get it and inspect , pay you to the original payment
Or you don’t buy anything and you get a bestbuy gift card for that amount $575

The only m4 pro model I saw on bestbuy was the base m4 Mac mini pro
So the configuration you want is not there ,I had to search google to find the pro model on bestbuy , searching the website the pro doesn’t come up
