M3 iMac Weird Screen Issue

Just unboxed our new iMac and noticed some strange vertical lines on the setup screen. However, I am unable to see these lines in any other image. I tested solid colors and everything and cannot figure out where these came from.

I’ve watched other unboxing videos and none of those machines had these lines on the setup screen. I’m hesitant to return it since I don’t notice them anywhere else during normal use. Anyone else seen this before?

To me it just looks like a software error where the wallpaper isn't getting blurred correctly. Don't worry.

1) Turn on your mouse.

2) Turn on your keyboard.

3) Watch screen return to normal.

Mine had visual effects like your showing when I first started it up last week. I Have not had any issues since then. I was concerned at first but later realized I believe it was the intent to look like that.

If you are talking about the first photo, that is the outline of your Magic Mouse, belly side up. The setup is asking you to turn on your mouse.

Yea, I saw this too in setup and thought it was weird but when I didn't see it again afterward I figured it was a bug in the algorithm used to push the background and pull the foreground focus.
