Amazon this week has introduced a few notable discounts across the M3 iPad Air lineup, with as much as $140 off select tablets. These are among the first big discounts we've tracked on the iPad Air in 2026, with prices starting at $489.99 for the 128GB Wi-Fi 11-inch iPad Air, down from $599.00.

These deals are all solid second-best prices on the M3 iPad Air, but it's been well over a month since we last tracked record low discounts, so if you've been waiting for a sale now is a great time to purchase the tablet. All of the deals in this sale have been automatically applied and do not require any coupon codes.

Okay, though the base model M3 iPad Air was on sale for $499 at Amazon all throughout the holiday season. I'll wait for the M4's to cause these to be perpetually discounted until they're out of production.

Or you could go to Costco’s web site and buy an iPad Pro M4 with cellular for $800.

Is it worth getting the current IPad Air? I can get the 256gb for $589 or a refurbished 512gb for $683.

How much of an upgrade are we getting on the next iteration of the iPad Air? Is it a large enough jump that paying full price is worth it? Or is this the better buy?

If we were to get the ProMotion display on the Air, it would definitely be worth it.

I plan on getting the Apple Pencil pro and the Magic Keyboard. Otherwise I would get another pro model.

I bought the base 11" for $499 at Best Buy in December. At this point I would wait until the new models hit the shelves to get a better discount on the M3.

By now Apple's made it clear that ProMotion is a "Pro" feature that probably won't trickle down to the midrange Air. One can always hope. The Air's lineage is the original $499 iPad from 2010.

You are probably right. I just had high hopes since iPhone 17 -every model- got upgraded to the 120 hz display.
