I’m loving my M3 Pro, but I got a Gaming Laptop for a deal on Black Friday which makes the M3 Pro redundant. Should I keep my M3 Pro or wait for the M4 Pro next year ?

How does a gaming laptop make your Mac redundant? Two different tools for different tasks. The winning move is put your gaming laptop and a Macbook Air in your bag.

Seems to me the M4 will just be another M2 situation. Better across the board but not enough to be a big deal.

Why would it be any different, they’re going to be on 3nm for a good while.

I'd get the value out of it ASAP, if needing a Mac go with a base Air. Pointless to have the MBP and not have use for it, just a waste of $$$$.

I don't understand the question... unless m4 pro will provide some kind of miraculous gaming experience that can compete with windows.

I can tell you right now if one of the guys in the locker room pulled out his M4 Pro in front of everyone I definitely wouldn't be rushing to show my M3 Pro…if I had one.
Unless you had an maxed out M3 Max, then you'd be showing everyone who's boss.
