My wife has had the 27" nano-textured display for a year now - no issues with scratches whatsoever. If you're in a habit of touching your display this might be a problem, but for a normal user there is no difference.

The nano texture situation on apple products is pretty inconsistent (in terms of what products get it).
I thought they were going to limit it to their 'pro' products, but the iMac got it. And you can now get it in every version of the MacBook too, unlike the iPad Pro where you have to get the 1/2TB models.
The new iPad mini could have also benefitted from the option.
Will the new MacBook Airs get the option? Will the new iPad Airs? iPads? I doubt it. The next iPhone? Maybe.
Apple should start to offer this an option with all their screens. I only want nano texture screens now. I sold my iPad mini because I really disliked using it in comparison to using the Nano on my iPad Pro. I'm happy to have it on my MacBook Pro now at least.
I wouldn't be surprised after Christmas Apple makes a random press release announcement that the nano texture option is now available to order on all iPad Pro models — not just the 1TB & 2TB models. But it seems like something that would definitely benefit MacBook Air users. Apple might be under pressure from some in corporate environments to add the nano texture much like they felt the heat to add more than 1 external display support for that same group.
