I'm trying to decipher what the new specs mean with regards to my display. I'm ready to pull the trigger on either the model or a Pro. My main display is the Samsung CRG9 Ultrawide:

I'm currently connected to an ancient 2009 Mac Pro with an RX580 running at 5120x1440 at 60Hz. The 60Hz is a limit of the RX580. The monitor is a 120Hz monitor. To achieve this I use BetterDisplay but it can't do everything for me.

I'd like to run the full 5120x1440 @ 120Hz with HDR on a new Macbook, but I'm unsure of the capabilities. Of note, the monitor supports HDMI 2.0 (max 60Hz I believe because it's not 2.1). But is has DisplayPort 1.4 which supports the full 120Hz.

I guess my question is will TB5 > DisplayPort 1.4 give me the full 5120x1440 @ 120Hz? I've never been able to really use this monitor to it's full potential (120Hz and HDR have been limits) and I'd like to see what it can do.
