Whenever I pull down the control panel from the upper right corner of my screen, the screen blanks out and turns gray. As soon as I roll the control panel back up, the screen reverts to normal. What’s going on? Is this a bug in iPadOS 26? Or is there a defect in my iPad? I have done a cursory search, but cannot find anything talking about this issue. See screenshot below.

Okay. The “problem” is having the “reduce transparency” option toggled on under Settings > Accessibility. In iPad OS 18, you didn’t need to do that to improve visibility of controls.

I hate iPad OS 26/iOS 26 and “Liquid Glass” so much. For soooo many reasons. Apple seems to have forgotten their own history and the problems they had with transparency when Mac OS X first debuted.
