seems these are overdue, any idea when they will come out?
Last year's M3 models came out on March 4. Apple has kept the MBPs to a roughly 12 month upgrade cadence (the M2s were delayed by 2 months because of covid shutdowns in China), it's a good bet Apple will keep the Air on a similar upgrade cycle and therefore the new ones will be out in March or maybe April.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said the new MacBook Air models will be announced "earlier" than some other devices rumored to launch this spring, such as a new iPhone SE and iPad 11. He has repeatedly said the new MacBook Air models are already in production, so a release as early as January or February rather than March or April seems possible.
Now, if this turns out to be a hit or miss for Gurman, only time will tell... :)

So just curious. The M3 Macbook Air 13" has a BTO delivery date here in the US of February 6-7th, the 15" is at February 13-17th. Is it normal for the 15" BTO to take longer?

The only reason I ask is I am pretty sure the 13" M3 Macbook Air will still be available and replace the M2, so the stock of this Macbook should remain the same. The 15" M3, however will become unavailable once the M4 is launched, so could this extra week be an indicator of an iminent release?

Yes. The fact that the dates slipped for just M2 and 15” M3 but not 13” M3 is a pretty good indicator. It’s also telling that no matter what item you upgrade the dates stay the same, so it’s not like there is an inventory constraint for a specific RAM/CPU/SSD option.

Fingers crossed announcement next week or the week after.

That would be friggin' awesome. If they'd just release a 10 core configuration and a nano-texture option, I'd be like a kid in a candy store. :D
I think they might release like a 8 cores CPU configuration and a 10 Cores CPU configuration…

The 10 Cores configuration might also includes the 10 cores GPU and be 200$ extra… Something similar to the iMac m4 guys !

That's what I'm hoping they do. I travel a lot, so the size/weight of the 13" Air is a significant advantage over a MBP. But if they only release an 8 core version with no option for the nano-texture, I might decide to step up to the MBP anyway. Of course, that's exactly the reason Apple would intentionally gimp the Air. :(

Yes because it would be around the same price… 1100+200(512gb)+200(for 10 cores CPU) = 1500 and the MacBook Pro is 1600 so for 100$ more the MacBook Pro is much better !

I am in a similar boat. I think both the extra $$$ for nano texture and limiting that option to the higher margin SKUs will be arguments in favor of Apple giving us that option. Like in the iMac. There are customers who are willing to pay a premium for the extra portability and if Apple doesn’t have to include the better screen, ports, speakers and fan and still charge a similar price then why not?
