I just got my base-M4 MacBook Pro and I am simply stunned.
The first thing I'm noticing? To quote Simon & Garfunkle, the sound of silence. There's zero fan noise that I can detect and compared to my old Intel MBA, I don't need to check myself for 3rd degree burns after using it. Even being the base unit it's runs pretty damn fast and runs circles around my old MBA like a pack of lions salivating over a dying zebra.
I am very impressed with it so far and as far as the notch goes? I was VERY wrong as I don't even notice it. I know it's there but it's not something I notice as Apple's software team has blended it in to the background so much you barely see it.
All in all, I am very happy with it so far and look forward to putting it through its paces.
