I've owned Apple laptops for close to twenty years and I've never had as many issues with scratching a screen as I have with my current M4 16" MBP.

I'm not a rough person, not live or work in a rough environment, but in the year or so since I've had the laptop I've had a couple tiny scratches show up on the screen in a way that I've never had with any other laptop before. I'm wondering if there's a different coating on the screen or maybe the build of the laptop means the keys come in contact with the screen when closed in a backpack or something?

Has anyone had similar experiences?
Anyone use or recommend any laptop screen protectors?

None for me. My MBP base M4 has no scratches. I just turn off the screen and looked at it with a light.

Bought it in April of '25.
