I have had disconnections with my new Beelink Thunderbot 5 enclosure when other drive controllers are plugged directly into other TB5 ports. This includes Realtec 10GBps (Raycue hub and a separate UGreen drive housing,) and Acasis USB4/TB4. Using USB-C hubs or and OWC TB4 hub solves the issue.
Beelink claims it is a mini Pro Thunerbot driver bug. I did not have the issue before using TB5/

Has anybody with a mini Pro seen this? I have a RAID0 in the Beelink, and it is at least as fast as the internal drive!

Hi, it is generally said hubs and docks perform much better when they have independent power.
I have a RayCue Hub with a 1 TB Drive installed and suffered ejection/disconnection whenever the M4 Mini wakes from sleep. I think the Ports of the Mini goes into low power mode in the Sleep state hence the disconnection.

To combat this behaviour on my Mini, I installed the software Jettison to force reconnection on Wake.
It generally works most of the time. Wish I knew about the Docks and Hubs connection shortfall before the purchase of the Dock.

Cheers.

All my hubs are powered except the Satechi USB-C 10Gbps, which cannot be powered.

I have not had disconnection issues with the hubs. As described, RayCue directly connected causes the Beelink to disconnect. On its own, it performs well considering it is 10Gbps. Using it through the Satechi USB-C hub works and has not led to disk slowdowns.

Note that the Satechi 10Gbps hub looks like its earlier 5Gbps predecessor.

To date, all Mac Minis and Studios from M1 to M4 have this significant Thunderbolt bus (under-)powering bug. Searching this issue online will reveal quite a few relevant complaints and discussions. I assume it's a limitation of Apple's motherboard IO design, which they either a) still don't take seriously ("jeez, this affects only some pro users, just buy our internal high-end SSD options for $$$$"), or b) just ignore to cut cost. I bet even the M45 revision will still have the same limitations.
