Hi,

Just wanted your opinions on this. With the state of RAM being as it is and the M5 Pro Mac Mini (whenever that comes out) potentially £200 or so more if Apple does what it did with the MBP’s and make you pay for 1TB as a base model. It could mean the base M5 Pro Mac Mini starting at 1599. At the moment, I can get the M4 Pro model for 1299 and wondered what your thoughts are on the value of getting an M4 Pro now for creative work (photography, 4K video editing, photoshop) with multiple monitors plugged in. For this use case, am I right in thinking it should consume those tasks with ease for the foreseeable future?

Just think with the uncertainty around everything and no guarantee when we’ll get the next model, from what I’ve read the M4 Pro is still a screamer!

Thanks

The current Mac mini M4 Pro will give you many years of rock-solid service for your needs! I'm a big fan of Apple's Silicon Mx in the Mac mini. Heck... I even expect my current Mac mini M2 Pro to last for many years. =)

There will always be "new tech, just around the corner." Buy the tech that you need, do good things with it, and enjoy life.

Live for the day, not tomorrow. We have no idea if and when an M5 Mac Mini will come out, so if you can get what you need/want now, get it. I have the M4 Pro Mac Mini with 64 GB and 2 TB (a ridiculous configuration that I would not have bought given the Studio that came out shortly afterwards, but I needed it when I did and so have no regrets). This machine is excellent and still performs extremely well for me.
