Since the Macbook Pros with M5 keep getting delays, will be the MBAs be delayed even further? In recent rumors, I dont even seen Macbook Airs mentioned at all. Been waiting to get the next gen one

How could it be delayed when it was never scheduled for a January release?

Common sense tells you the M5 and M5 Pro/Max chips are separated by at least a calendar quarter. Or else Apple would have launched the entire M5 family all together. The earliest M5 Pro/Max launch is this month, February.

For the Air, there's a good chance Apple plans to launch it alongside the low-cost MacBook.

Hopefully we all understand what OP meant - the "rumors" were that the M5 Pro and M5 Max MBPs were to come out early in 2026 (potentially in Jan)... and it came and passed.

Anyways, if you're in the market for an MBA, I get that you're waiting on the M5... might as well, even though it'll practically be the same as the M4... (if paying full price, you want the latest, one extra year of support, discounts on M4 version probably increase even more after M5 is officially out). Anyways, the M4 MBA was released Mar 12, 2025.

I think it's still very possible that the spec-bumped M5 Pro/Max MBPs are released in Feb or Mar. And either as part of that release, or soon thereafter, they announce the spec-bumped M5 MBA.

And/or they release the M5 MBA alongside the rumored A18-entry level Macbooks.

I personally wouldn't take lack of rumors/news to mean the M5 MBA is "delayed" at all. Mar 2026 still feels about right, and also 12mos after the M4 MBA.

Again, if you looked at the situation logically:

  • No chance M5 Pro was going to be January 2026. It's too close (less than quarter) to M5 in October 2025. Apple would have grouped the launches if they were that close.
  • Early February was one of the logical dates. It came and went.
  • No chance of mid- or late-February because it's Chinese New Year. The factories are shut down a week before and week after Feb. 17. Nobody is making the new product, so the chance of launch was zero.
  • Next logical date was March.
