I edit corporate video, and I'm sincerely hoping that in ten years I'll be working on Apple's new 40in Hi Def Touch Screen Mac Pro ACD. It would be the greatest innovation in editing since the move away from film to digital suite...
Let's see...
256-bit CPU w/64-cores @ 200ghz each
64-terabytes of RAM
500-terabyte flash drive
30" 3D LCD
And to counteract over 15 years of metals and plastic, Apple will be the first to go with mahogany, teak and other fine wood enclosures designed by Bombay Company.
There still won't be an update for AOL Instant Messenger for mac, Safari will be a bit snappier on this machine, and of course people will still be "disappointed" in Apple keynotesAlso no PPC support

Not really an architecture switch that one though, just a manufacturer nudge. You could easily run OSX on an AMD processor now if you built yourself a Hackintosh (although that would be naughty and nobody should ever think of doing it, right kids?)AMD, anyone?
TBH, I don't think I'm going to like what the future holds for Apple. Multi-Touch? No thanks, I'll keep my keyboard and mouse.
I'll bet the transition from the horse and cart to the automibile was real rough on you too.
I think that the whole multi-touch thing is spot-on, to be honest. Apple is certainly heading in that direction now!
But... what about after multi-touch? Brain wave control? Thought-generated iTunes?
The thing is, no one wants to lift their arms up to an iMac screen to use the computer, your shoulders would begin to get tired after a while. I also don't want to be hunched over on a tablet. Keyboards are hard enough for my back to use just for the short time I use them, why would I want to do all my computing in that same position?
I don't see what the fascination with touch screens is. I've played with an iPhone before. Fun to use for about 15 minutes before I realized I was much more comfortable with a phone that has buttons. But that's more then likely just me.
True, I never really thought of it like that.
I wonder if it would be better to have the iMac closer to you?
OMG.. not typing in purple? WTF?![]()

I think we're going to see the complete iLife suite ported to MobileMe very soon - possibly within the next two years. iPhoto. iTunes. iWork. iEverything.
You mean, no internet!
