1)What are your thoughts on .Mac? I love the fact that my documents can be stored on their server per yr and then access them from any computer with internet access, and I do like having my own email address associated with apple. However, I really don't know if paying 100$ a yr (correct?) is worth it, just for those two tasks. I know there are other benefits of having a .Mac account, such as web-publishing, and backup, etc. Is there something I can use for free for server space, thats like the IDisk? Any other thoughts on .Mac in general?

2) Backup: 2 questions: A) What is the main difference between backing up a file and copying a file?
B) In your opinion, are there better backup softwares than the backup software that comes with .Mac?

1. The main things I use in .Mac are Sync and Mail. I don't use iDisk because I feel is too slow. You can get .Mac in Amazon.com for a lower price than buying directly from Apple.

2. A. If you backup a file, you will need the Backup client software to restore it. If you use incremental backups, Backup will keep the different versions of the file.

B. .Mac Backup is the only backup software that I have used. I find it very easy to use. It can also backup your info to you iPod, CD/DVDs and hard drives. If you are only going to backup to hard drives, you could probably get a more powerful software.
