I have a Mac and my router ( Non WiFi) is connected via the Ethernet Plug.
My 8 year old daughter is going to get a 2nd hand PC for X mas... how do I connect and set up the PC to my router... sorry but have never even looked at the back of a PC and the last time I used one was about 10 years ago.
Thanks

You should be able to just plug in the computer if it is not going to be Wifi and go. You might have to go in and change some of the prefferences for the PC but i do not think you will need to do much on the router end of things.

Check that she has an Ethernet port; it should look exactly like the one that the cable on your Macintosh is plugged in. Then check your router: Hopefully it has more than one Ethernet port; most non-WiFi routers have four Ethernet ports. And then you need a second Ethernet cable, just like for your Macintosh. To get one without paying over the odds, just type "Ethernet Cable" into Google and you'll find lots of places selling them cheap.
