Welcome. For any programs you might want to go find. www.versiontracker.com is the best place to find it. Also, when every doing and updates to OS X or installing anything that asks for your administrator password, remember to repair permissions. It is the number one thing that can cause problems. Here is how to do it https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/89736/.

Other than that, welcome to the club. Any questions or problems, don't hesitate to post, after doing a search first though.

🙂 Thanks for those sites... any other newbie info anyone wants to pass along is much appreciated! It's sad, i know the ins and outs of pcs... took my first apart when i was about 9 years old, put my first together when i was 13... But when it comes to macs, i'm a child.

Anyhoo, i have a G4 that I bought on these forums from zachj (who rocks, by the way... big thumbs up as a seller) and did a few upgrades...

It was 350mhz, now 450
it will soon have 1 gig of ram (currently 512)
it has the stock video card, but will soon have a radeon 7000 (should get here tomorrow!)

hmmm... what else... i'm using my kensington wirelss studiomouse, and should be getting a new apple pro keyboard (black/clear) in the mail soon. It's got a dvd drive, but i'm hoping to change this to a combo or superdrive (any help on this would be awesome)

Also, i've got it hooked up to my philips 170w4 monitor, which rocks, cause i've got my pc to the dvi and my mac to the vga, and can switch between them with the input button right on the front! woot!

I <3 my Mac.
