I have no idea as to why people resort to bash a competing company and (or) product. If you like something great, spread the good cheer if not just keep it to yourself. You do not represent the company that is why companies market they products and services to consumers, why do consumers see fit to do it for free. If its in accords to x86 or PPC you get these FAN CLUBS where people do not know where to draw the line.

They sound like teenagers with an issue to downplay and insult others for they choices. The best advice is:

If you have nothing good to say, just ignore it.

Many people including myself at times have a hard time ignoring garbage that is spewed out by some individuals that just gets on your last nerve. Oh well I still have a way to go to become a better human. :)

Could you use this "switching" thing to, say have iTunes use the music and libarary currently stored on my WinXP box? Could it access it over SMB?

iTunes uses the same file on both platforms for storing music information, right?

Damn, I meant symbolic links. And library sharing isn't an option. Others use the computer, iTunes can't stay open. Besides my older brohter insists on restarting it every time before he uses it. Thinks it makes it go faster. I don't seem to be able to change his mind.

Anyway, I stated the wrong thing. Sorry. How would I go about using a symbolic link to make iTunes use the library file and the MP3s stored on the SinXP box with SMB sharing? I want iTunes to use that library file, so it stays in sync on both computers.

I really wish these guys would give some well-supported critisism. Then I would maybe be able to take them seriously.

It's simple... they just don't get IT... your lack of seriousness is well deserved by them.

We have 3 PCs and one Mac on a router here at home. I have specific instructions to the family that in case of fire... save the mac and leave the rest. We all know this is for good reason.

The main thing I'd like to point out is that it's that individuals opinion about Macs, just as your opinion is yours. So, in theory, neither can be wrong. Anyways, don't let it get to you. The "bashers" are just uninformed, ignorant or possibly both. Let it roll off you like water.

I own Windows machines but I'm going to purchase a 12" PB as soon as I can get my last W2 and file my income tax. I just started using Macs again about 1 year ago after 10+ years and I prefer them. I do, however, only have problems with spyware occasionaly but never viruses. Anyone with any tech knowledge can operate a Windows machine with ease. It's more of a hassle keeping it up to date, protected, and spyware free but Windows machines are useful nonetheless.

Linux is my next endeavor and I look forward to learning it.
