I was sitting in bed watching a movie on my macbook pro and I had to leave for a second. Inconveniently, I have to get up, walk over, and press the pause button. This got me thinking, is there any kind of bluetooth remote (or application for my iphone) that allows me to semi-control my laptop. I know apple makes an IR remote but I would prefer bluetooth if possible.

Thanks

check out remote buddy. It will let you use a wii-mote as a remote. Plus if you get a couple of infrared LEDs (or a sensor bar for the wii), you can use it as a mouse just by pointing at the screen.

Remote buddy is great, I'm looking at using it with my iPod Touch to control playback of my DVD rips on my MB used as a HTPC. But you will have to pay 19.99 € which is about $27USD. I haven't purchased it yet (still using the demo as I don't have my set up done yet) but plan to buy it when the demo is finished. Oh and it doesn't work over bluetooth, it works over wifi, I don't know if that matters to you or not.

remote buddy when used with a wii-mote, uses bluetooth not wi-fi.
with the touch yes, it does use wi-fi
