Why do I get the message that my page that I am on, is taking up too much power?

More details would be very helpful. In what app is this page? What is the exact wording of the message? Which macOS version are you using?

Apparently it's a known issue when using Chrome according to a brief search for "Facebook high RAM usage." There are suggestions out there about possible fixes, but I don't know enough about the issue--or Facebook for that matter--to recommend which ones are credible. Have you checked with Facebook support?

hello...it is happening on other websites as well....about using too much energy....sounds like it's my computer issue. I was using Safari on the occasions I get the messages, not Chrome. but thanks anyway!

I get the message at various times on a mid-2014 13" Pro. I quit the app and start it again.
