I finally updated to Mavericks and I have a Mac Book Pro from around 2012 and when I updated it will not load up all the way now, once I turn it on. I seems like it's loading the operating system but then crashes..

    Any ideas?

    You might :

    - boot up from the Recovery partition (Cmd + r on chime), use Disk Utility to verify/repair Macintosh HD, and repair the permissions.

    - boot in safe mode (Shift on chime)

    Let us know what happens.

I tried a repair on the HD but it said it could not be repaired.

When I verified the HD, it said it needed to be repaired.

It wont let me boot to safe mode because it is tried to load Mavericks.
