T troye macrumors newbie Original poster Jul 30, 2014 #1 I finally updated to Mavericks and I have a Mac Book Pro from around 2012 and when I updated it will not load up all the way now, once I turn it on. I seems like it's loading the operating system but then crashes.. Any ideas?

B Bruno09 macrumors 68020 Jul 30, 2014 #2 You might : - boot up from the Recovery partition (Cmd + r on chime), use Disk Utility to verify/repair Macintosh HD, and repair the permissions. - boot in safe mode (Shift on chime) http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564 Let us know what happens.

T troye macrumors newbie Original poster Jul 30, 2014 #3 I tried a repair on the HD but it said it could not be repaired. When I verified the HD, it said it needed to be repaired. It wont let me boot to safe mode because it is tried to load Mavericks.
