I tried booting my Mac Book Pro in target mode attached to a dual g4 (v 10.3.9), and although the Pro book boots in target mode my G4 says it cannot read/recognize any files on the book and will not mount it. Any ideas what is going on? Thanks
Andy

Can you be more specific about what is/is not happening? I'm not sure how you can get to the G4 reporting that the files can't be read or recognized when the hard drive doesn't even mount on the host Mac.

PowerPC machines must be running 10.4 in order to use target disk mode with an Intel-based Mac. You need to upgrade your G4 to 10.4 in order to use your MacBook in target disk mode. Either that, or put your G4 in target disk mode and mount its hard drive on the MacBook.
