MAc book Pro screen dying....Back up on iCloud?

My macbook pro screen is dying.....I don't want to lose all my data on the computer.

1. How can I backup my data on the macbook pro HD?
2. I am out o iCloud storage - How do I increase it and will it backup my data from breaking computer?


Currently using a work Macbook air.

Get an external USB drive. Could be a hard drive or an SSD.

Download SuperDuper from here:

Use SuperDuper to create a bootable cloned backup of your internal drive.

Now, if the MacBook fails, you have a good backup.
You can restore to another Mac.
Or even boot another Mac directly from the backup (if certain needs are satisfied).

You can just plug it into another Mac with USB-C and copy your files to the new one.

There is no iCloud Backup on the Mac. Only on iOS.
