For some reason, my Mac has been booting up with Safari open (even if I un-check the box that says to log in with open apps upon shutdown). Whenever it boots, I see Safari automatically open, even though I closed it before I shut down. Is there any way to fix this?

Do you think, and I'm not being snarky, that this is the reason that this is happening for you?

Or if I misread, then do this:
Open your System Preferences, go to the System tab and click on the "Users & Groups icon. Click on the "Login Items" tab. If those applications are listed there, click on the small minus button at the bottom and remove them one by one.

It was there for some reason! I removed it...thanks.
