The Sequoia version of the Mac Calculator app seems to have removed the printout window. Or am I missing something? It was really handy to keep track of long sequences. Did Apple decided to make the app less functional?
well, I think they call it 'history' now (control+command+S). Hey , if you're gonna rebrand it to 'HISTORY' the key command should have been (control+command+H) Where's your Mac-sensibility?
It's ridiculous that is constantly changing the little 'basic' things that shouldn't be touched, meanwhile avoiding the obvious necessities. YEs its a basic calculator. that doesnt mean it should be un-mac-like and unfriendly to use!
OLD issues:
still no widget for the side bar. WHY??, just let us put it there for easy access. instead we have to go find the app or take up space in the dock. its really stupid.
SOLVED issues:
they finally gave us back the 'Float on top' option. 👍
NEW issues:
the 'history' window now 'walks' the Calc window across the desktop as you 'open and close' it via the key commands. WTF? if I place my window in a location so I can work, DON'T move it cause I open the 'history' panel. why the need to 'rebrand' and obfuscate something that should be so basic and straightforward?
Well, they moved 'Convert' to the VIEW menu... then you have to go BACK to the calc window and select your conversion: [tabs along the top of pop-out/variants scrolled up and down]

Weird. I thought that's what History was for, but when I originally activated it nothing happened. I just tried it again and now it's popping out the side window. So that's marginally useful (no pun intended).
Thanks for posting this thread @jayducharme , and for the solution @kkclstuff !☺️ I'd noticed this 'Paper Tape' feature was missing in Sequoia but hadn't had a chance to look into it or post about it yet.

If you click on the calculator icon you will find 'convert' there.
History is now editable so if you click on a line it makes it live so you can correct just one thing.
Calculator works with the keyboard so you can type in equations and use () */ etc. Backspace deletes the last digit entered.
You can now copy and paste in and out of the application

We're discussing Sequoia (Mac app) and I only have 'Convert' in my View Menu (no dock or icon options). Not doubting that there may be other ways to activate—I was helping out @bogdanw in finding Convert in the new macOS.
I didnt know 'History' is now editable—Thats a nice feature added. Still with a change in branding, they could have been more consistent with the keyboard commands.
I think you're missing my point about the keyboard. (Im well aware of the keyboard input's use and practicality as I use it daily.) My point about keyboard commands was how they open the History panel; the app window now moves from its desktop location upon opening and closing—it 'walks' the window to the 'left side of the screen'. THIS IS A BUG—and frustrating that the calculator wont stay on the RIGHTside of the desktop—where the user placed it.
